Facial Cupping Therapy

Facial Cupping Therapy is a technique targeting specific areas using small cups applied to the skin. The cups gently pull the skin away from the deeper layers of the fascia. The technique rejuvenates the skin but does not leave any unsightly cupping marks. The suction is said to relieve muscle tension, and regenerate cell repair. This technique can help to minimise the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and decrease skin puffiness over time improving your overall complexion. Facial cupping can also be included in to treatments such as Zone Face Lift and Facial Reflexology.

Is Facial Cupping Therapy for you?

So, you may ask yourself is Facial Cupping for me? Well, the good news is this treatment is suitable for most adults young and old. However, there are certain conditions where you should not have this treatment. For this reason, your session always begins begins with a consultation that enables me to determine if Facial Cupping is for you. I put your health first, so you may need to consult your doctor to get permission before your treatment can start. You should avoid facial cupping if you are pregnant or on any medication that thins the blood. Also Facial cupping is not advised if you have broken or inflamed skin,  including active breakouts, rashes, and sores. I will of course keep all your medical and personal information confidential for future treatments.

Please note you should not use Facial Cupping instead of conventional medical care. Consult a health care professional for medical advice.

What happens during a treatment?

Your Facial Cupping treatment lasts for up to 30 minutes and it is best to wear a loose fitting top if you are wanting your décolletage treated. Treatments always start with a consultation before the treatment.

After the consultation, I invite you into the treatment room. You are asked to lie on a heated couch, then covered with a blanket and you will be given a hair band to wear to ensure your hair is off your face. It is my job to ensure  you are warm, relaxed, and comfortable from start to finish of the treatment. It begins with your face being gently cleansed to remove any make up. A facial oil is then applied to your face, neck and décolletage to ensure the cups do not leave any bruising when applied. The suction cups are then applied to the skin with gentle but firm pressure using various techniques including dynamic and flash cupping. The cups are applied and left on the skin for no more than 2 seconds so no bruising will occur unlike body cupping. The experience will probably not feel like you may expect. My clients after the treatment said it was very enjoyable, relaxing and Invigorating. One of my case studies commented  “The purposeful, pulling and manipulating moving of the cups felt extremely beneficial, leaving a lovely buzzy feeling on the skin”.

The treatment will conclude with a relaxing scalp massage and some relaxation techniques, You should not only feel but see that your skin is noticeably tighter, for example your jaw line and cheek bones more defined. You may notice some face redness but this will disappear in a few hours. In the waiting room you will be given water to drink and a final consultation. In this consultation I will answer any of your queries and give you after care advice. I also advise you to avoid alcohol and caffeine in the hours after the treatment and drink plenty of water.
